2021, Nothing New in Politics

I haven’t written anything regarding politics since the election. So much is going on, yet really nothing new. Trump is being himself, spreading conspiracy theories, telling lies, and constantly challenging the election results. Like I said, nothing new.

“They” say this is a big week because tomorrow is the election in Georgia of two new senators, either Democrat or Republican, which will determine who has control of the house. “They” say its a big deal and obscene amounts of money are being spent on ads for who’s running. Trump and Biden are heading there today to campaign for their parties. If the Republicans lose, “they” say to blame it on President Trump. Trump will again say it is fraudulent. Nothing new.

Also on this Wednesday Congress, as a formality, certifies the electoral vote. Well Trump and some newly appointed senators are opposed to this and will try to stop this process from happening. “They” say its a waste of time. Most Republican senators accept the fact that Joe Biden is our new president and will not go along trying to change the outcome. This process happens after every election and we’re not even aware of it because its nothing more than a formality.

I am still worried about the same things: How many citizens of the United States believe Trump; The strong presence of the Proud Boys, Qanon, and white supremacy groups; The continued influence of social media on false claims.

I’ll say it again, nothings changed.
