I finally got to see the movie, “A Complete Unknown.” Since my movie friend passed I have no one to go to the movies with. Anyway I’m glad that I didn’t pay to see this at the theater, (I did 5.99, streaming). I was never a fan of Bob Dylan until later in life when I came to appreciate his contributions, his poetry, lyrics and collaborations. Timothy Charlemagne, who played Bob Dylan did a great job. I like him as an actor. I also love Dakota Fanning, who played his girlfriend. I learned a lot about him that I didn’t know such as his connection with Johnny Cash, Joan Baez, and Pete Seeger. The movie was okay, He’s kind of a jerk, very aloof, I found no warmth about him. That’s my opinion from reading about him throughout the years and this movie confirmed it for me.
My introduction to Bob Dylan was in the 70’s when I was in high school. The Beatles all looked up to him. His performing at George Harrison’s, “Concert for Bangladesh.” I had the album, I revered it, but I still don’t know what happened to it. My first husband, Bryan was and still is a fan. My albums consisted of all Beatle’s all the time. His was more varied, Black Sabbath, (again hated until later in life), old time country, (which I called Cryin’ in your beer music) and Bob Dylan, and The Band. I couldn’t stand when he played a Dylan album. That voice, how horrible. I asked him to play him when I wasn’t home. Of course I loved him in The Traveling Willbury’s. What a line up, such perfection
I have to say that I love a lot of Dylan’s songs, a real lot. I haven’t seen him in concert and don’t know that I want to
