I have to say that I’m sure this was out there and I only just learned about it, so it is new to me and anyone else who has heard it for the first time. Anyway, On CBS Sunday Morning, Ted Koppel was doing a story on Mayberry, North Carolina.. A fictional small town from the Andy Griffith Show. He was in Mt. Airy, where it is located. and on a tour bus and decided to ask those aboard, (all white) what were their thoughts about what happened at the capital on January 6.
To my shock, they all said it was fake and had been staged. When asked who believed this, they all raised their hands except for one gentleman, who stayed pretty quiet. They stated that they saw the busloads arriving and did not believe they were Trump supporters and white supremacy activists.
I don’t know the direction of democracy in this day and age. When mainstream political parties and elected officials continue to spread false claims, it feels dangerous and it scares me.
