I received an email the other day that Alice Cooper is coming to Richmond! He will be at the Altria Theater on October 30!! I am very excited because for over 25 years I have wanted to see his Halloween show. The show is actually called “Alice’s Attic,” so I’m not sure it’s his Halloween show, but the date makes me think it is.” I get presale notices, which is great.
I wanted to buy tickets yesterday but held back on whether to get handicapped seats or regular seats. I’ve mentioned before that the handicapped (orchestra seats) at Altria Theater are very good. It’s a dilemma because if people stand up, the seats are worthless, being in a wheelchair you won’t be able to see the stage. For comedians, plays, and even seeing Heart,* it was fine. I am imagining that for Alice Cooper there will be lots of people standing. Anyway I did buy the handicapped seats, orchestra center. If people stand I will wheel myself down to the front.
- At the Heart concert, nobody stood until the last song, “Barracuda.” I did wheel myself down to the front because I couldn’t see.
I lam a big fan of Alice Cooper. In interviews he seems genuine, intelligent, and a genuinely nice person who is a hard rocker and also a philanthropist, He is a reminder of my youth. I was in high school and “School’s Out” was like an anthem for us. I am proud that I am the first generation of classic rock. When my grandson turned 18 I sent him a recording of “I’m 18.”

Actual photographs of Alice Cooper and John Lennon with May Pang during “Lennon’s Lost Weekend.” These photos were inside an envelope in a box that I bid on in an auction in upstate New York.
