Craft Fair

I have been making crafts for a long time now. I started a new category when I realized how much of my time it takes and how I would like to share what I make. For the past three years I have been making Christmas themed crafts and looking for a craft fair to sell them out. I had been unsuccessful in finding one that I can participate in.

There are several things to consider when finding a venue. The most important to me is how much the organization will charge for you to participate. Some are too much money, (I would like to make a profit), and others want you to drop off your crafts and they will sell and besides the entry fee, they also take a percentage of what you sell. I wanted one that was reasonable, close to home, and where I personally was selling my crafts. The interaction with other vendors and customers is important to me.

I found such a venue in St. Albans Anglican Catholic Church. They only wanted ten dollars for a table, (which they provided) and wanted you to set up the day before the sale. Perfect! To not have to get up at the crack of dawn to set up was a big plus. Here are some pictures of my table:

Everything I made was from recycled fabrics, old work Carhart’s and denim jeans, Levi’s, and left over upholstery fabrics. The cork Christmas tree ornaments I made from used wine corks, and the pet bandanas, again from scrap fabrics. The wine gnomes are all from left over felt and found buttons.

As a side note, I found out the difference between a Roman Catholic, (how I was raised), and an Anglican Catholic. The Anglican Catholics do not have the pope as a leader and only worship thy father, God, and son, Jesus. Mother Mary is not prayed to as the Roman Catholics do. The Anglican Catholics are also the Church of England and are less strict than Roman Catholics. I think it had to do with King Henry VIII, wanting a divorce, although I thought that changed to Episcopalian. Oh Well, if I want to know more I can look it up.
