I have decided to make an appointment for my next tattoo. I always remember right before summer and that’s not a good time to get it. The album “Living in the Material World” meant so much to me I feel it’s important to honor that. My current tattoo’s are of Foxgloves, (my favorite) and a hummingbird. I want the new one to fit in with the garden theme.

I have always planned on using the Ohm sign with the words, ““Living in the Material World ” in script around it. That doesn’t really fit in with what I have. I know that George Harrison has used gnomes in his album art so yesterday, out of laziness I googled his album art. , I couldn’t find the picture I was looking for. I know that the album “All Things must Pass” has gnomes on the cover but again, that’s not what I was looking for.

As I was reading everything that came up I saw “Living in the Material World,” a film by Martin Scorsese. How did I not know about this? I could watch it on Apple TV for 4.99 or on Disney or Paramount, neither which I get. Anyway, back to my search for this gnome I visioned in the back of an album. I pulled out a drawer that I keep all my Beatle CD’s in. Wow, it was like opening a treasure chest.

I have brand new CD’s that I won from Q104.3, New York, a special George collection and also a Beatle collection. So I had multiple CD’s of George’s albums, some never opened. I went through each looking for this elusive gnome, not to be found. I’m thinking I must have imagined it. There was a brand new, “Concert for Bangladesh.” I had the original album, unfortunately I left at a friends house. This was wonderful! I read through the booklet, as I did with all of these new found CD’s. I also found a brand new, never opened, “Living in the Material World” DVD’s of Martin Scorsese’s film. On a side note there was also “Paul McCartney, Live from Citifield,” the concert we went to. I have no memory of getting these but I must have.

Now I don’t know what to do about my new tattoo. I really wanted the gnome I envisioned. I’m not going to make one up or use AI. It would have fit in perfectly with the garden theme. I have my gnome, who I named “George,” but I won’t use that either.

I just googled George Harrison and gnomes. I found a picture of him with his father surrounded by his gnomes. I picked one, a laying down gnome, and enlarged it. It is not clear but I will use it and ask Katie to insert George’s face, unless I find something else in the meantime.
