THE ROLLING STONES

THIS POST HAS BEEN IN MY MIND SINCE TUESDAY MORNING THE 24TH OF AUGUST. i WAS NOT ABLE TO GET TO MY COMPUTER SINCE THEN BECAUSE OF MY ADHD. MY HUSBAND IS OFF SINCE TUESDAY AND BECAUSE OF THAT AND THE TIME CONSTRAINTS I COULD NOT POST. BECAUSE OF ADHD, I CAN ONLY TYPE A POST IN THE LATE MORNING UP TILL 12 NOON. 12 NOON IS MY PREFERRED START TIME. I ALSO CANNOT POST WHILE ANYONE ELSE IS IN THE HOUSE. THAT’S THE WAY I AM, I ALSO CAN’T TALK ON THE PHONE AFTER 12 NOON OR WHEN ANYONE ELSE IS IN THE HOUSE. HERE GOES MY TUESDAY POST.

I love The Rolling Stones! There is no other band like them. As a #1 Beatle fan there are no comparisons to be made. They are totally different bands. Although they both had blues influences, amongst others, I’m not here to discuss any of that. As much as The Rolling Stones have toured, I have never seen them and that boggles my mind. Once I was going to get tickets with y cousin, #1,L, whose seen them 4 or 5 times. The tickets were going to cost almost $1000. bucks and they weren’t even great seats. I couldn’t bring myself to get them. Looking back I should have, because now I’m ready to spend the money.

No one sings like Mick Jagger, his voice is one of the greatest in rock’n roll, his moves are legendary and the lyrics great. He’s the best at what he does, what a showman!!!! What can I say about Keith Richards, a showman unto himself. I read his autobiography and it kept me hungering for more. It is one of those books you just don’t want to end. His guitar playing, watching and listening is mesmerizing, what attitude, he exudes rock’n roll rebellion. Then you have Ron Wood, another ace guitar player. He’s been with The Stones since 1975 but has also been a major guitar god with Rod Stewart and the Faces, and The Jeff Beck Group. “He is one of the most creative guitarists on the planet,” according to Steve Hoffman. He also brought other instruments to be played besides the guitar. Last but surely not least, is Charlie Watts. Wow, what a drummer! Always so cool, such precision. Watching his rhythm and timing is also mesmerizing. He is never outwardly flamboyant like a lot of drummers, and delivers the best beat in rock’n roll!

The Rolling Stones together, had that something special that makes good bands great! The melding of talent and personalities is what makes them so special and so in sync with each other.

Back to seeing The Stones, The last time they toured my son got to see them twice! My brother-in-law surprised my sister with tickets! (she is the fakest rock’n roller) I told my son that the next time they toured please get me tickets and I’ll pay him back whatever they cost. I asked him because I knew my husband wouldn’t do it, although I did ask him too. I got excited when they announced they would be back on the road this year, (after canceling because of Covid). I looked up the tour dates and locations and the nearest venue was in N. Carolina. I started the process, checked out the seating, was very close to booking, and while I was on the website I told my husband and he didn’t seem to thrilled about the price and the fact we would have to stay overnight, (big DEAL). I let his negativity effect me and exited without buying. I want the person I go with to be as excited as me!!!
