Here we go. Trump is out, (or is he) and Biden is in. All the hoopla from the homegrown terrorists has calmed down. All of the outraged Republicans, who spoke up about Trump’s involvement inciting the attack on our democracy, are now changing their tune and saying, “no, it wasn’t his fault.” Surprise, surprise!
The impeachment is going ahead. They delayed it, (at Mitch McConnell’s request) and no sooner than it was delayed, their tunes started changing against it. I never thought the impeachment should happen, but I do feel Trump has to be held accountable. I only agreed to the impeachment because it showed a way that Donald Trump could never run for office again. Right now as it stands it is ridiculous. It is DOA on arrival, so what’s the point. Is there another way to shut him down?
I am still afraid for myself and all honest citizens of our nation. One of the outspoken politicians agreeing that Trump had incited the uprising, Kevin McCarthy, couldn’t wait to fly down to Florida and meet with Trump expressing his loyalty, (ass kissing in the highest degree). He is badmouthing some Republicans that are against Trump, in particular, Representative Liz Cheney. The Trump Republicans are going after her and now she has to fear losing her position and more important her life.
It is said there is infighting amongst the Republicans. It is sad to see that some of them are going down this deceitful, slanderous road. They are promoting conspiracy theories that are so far from the truth, it is frightening. We have so many duplicitous, and dishonest representatives in Washington who are willing to go along for their own selfish agendas. You know the players, Ted Cruz, Kevin McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Josh Hawley to name a few.
Now on to President Biden. I did vote for him and personally I like him as a human being. I feel he is a good man. Regardless, we are not given many decent choices when it comes to voting for our presidents. A lot of times it is a choice of the lesser of two evils, (Example; 2016, Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump)
I am all for undoing the attack on climate that Trump did and pursuing more ecological ways of harnessing energy. I am also for repairing our relationships with our allies and holding Putin accountable for his crimes against us. That said, I am not in favor of opening our borders. Right now there is a mass exodus of thousands of Hondurans making their way to our border. They feel the new president will let them in. I think Biden should speak up NOW, don’t wait until their on our doorstep!
To our representatives in Washington, PLEASE STOP THE MADNESS!
I could go on but I’m tired, I think we’re all tired. I have one last question, actually two:
Is there any common sense left? Can sanity be brought back to our nation?
