Yesterday I was able to spend the afternoon out in the garden. I didn’t go back to the perennial garden where I started because it had rained and P doesn’t want me on the lawn with the golf cart, (God forbid) when its too wet. I could have but I just didn’t want to hear it. Besides there is so much work to be done I could go anywhere. I decided to finish in the small bed that I had started. I continued to cut the old leaves off the Lenten Rose. You can see in the pictures that by cutting off the leaves (right side of Crape Myrtle), I was able to uncover the new growth that was already blooming.

From there I moved on to the bed that runs along the side of the garage. This bed has two Hellebores, (Lenten Rose) and three Hydrangeas. I also cleaned up two Daylilies in the bed that runs adjacent to the garage. I started with the Hostas, which leave a big mess. This garden is a pain because of the Lob Lolly (pine) tree nearby that drops tons of needles. I didn’t mention that the Lenten Rose has numerous babies that I had to pull up. I should have taken a picture but I didn’t. The next ones I will save to give away, it’s too early now, (we still might get a frost). I felt real good because I finished the whole bed!
