  • New Pics

I was unable to get into my photo albums to access the photo below so I had to retake the picture. That s why there is black above and below the picture. I also tried to crop the picture to remove the black and that didn’t work either.

  • New Perennials

Every week there are new flowers blooming in the Wildflower garden. This week is no different. The Coreopsis is still blooming and quite invasive. I had to thin them out so that new varieties of flowers can come up. The bottom two photos I took because they are so pretty. I love the color of…

  • First Monarch Sighting

Finally I saw my first Monarch butterfly! When we moved here I saw them frequently. Unfortunately throughout the years the sightings are less and less. That’s why I’m committed to planting native perennials that attract all of the pollinators. This picture was taken in the wildflower garden. He was flitting about the Coreopsis. This particular…

  • Beautiful Blooms

All of the Lilies throughout my yard were here when we moved in. This is one perennial that I will not incorporate in any future garden beds. They are too much maintenance. • Working Hard in the Garden

I’ve been very busy in the garden. I thank God that I’m feeling alright and that the weather has been cooperating, with mornings from 65 to 70 degrees. As long as I’m in the shade it’s been good. I’m also grateful that Pete has been working with me, helping me weed and mulching the completed…

I was able to clean up the herb garden in between the raindrops over Memorial Day weekend. I cut back the Chives, cut all the dead branches off the Lavender. Out of four plants I only have two left, one is around 8 years old, very leggy, with one blooming branch and the other is…

  • Wildflower Garden

I came home to more blooms. This garden does just keeps on giving.

  • Roses

The day after I posted what was blooming, I came outside and the roses had bloomed, just like that! They’re magnificent!

  • April Blooms

I have been out cleaning up some of the beds. Unfortunately I can do maybe an hour at a time. This week not so much, it’s been in the 90’s all week. The weather didn’t stop me from taking pictures of what’s blooming. Notice all of the Azaleas in the background.

  • Wildflower Garden Bed II

    Wildflower Garden Bed II

When I looked at the garden bed today I noticed that all of the Dianthus, “Green Ball,” as described in previous text are all changing colors. So they are not “Green Ball” they are Dianthus, “Sweet William.” I thought by cutting and putting in a vase, that would maybe stop them from changing colors but…
