We returned from NC on Monday to see the seasons newest blooms here in my garden in VA. In the wildflower garden that I planted from seed last year there was a new flower I wasn’t familiar with.
I looked it up and the name is Erysimum allionii, common name Siberian Wallflower. It is a native plant, and deer resistant, (most native plants are), and has a pleasant aroma. It is a biennial which means “plants that complete their life cycle over two growing seasons.” I could not find if it reseeds itself.

Also blooming are Bridal Wreath Spirea and what I call “my rogue, Columbine. I call it rogue because it popped up over five years ago in the driveway next to the air conditioner and hose on a very small section of dirt.
