We had wanted to try and see a broadway show while in NY. My preference would have been Hamilton or Billy Crystal’s new show. Alas, very expensive. I get emails from Broadway Direct and was pricing different shows. My sister-in-law Jan told me to get the app. On the app, go to the menu and choose Lottery. It lists plays that tickets are available with the highest price being $45.00. You don’t get your choice of seats but they’ve been to around 8 or 9 and say the seats are usually pretty good. Sign up for what available plays you want to see, (this is first thing in the morning for the following days shows). Note what time the lottery closes, (usually at 2 or 3 o’clock the same day). Check your email as soon as the lottery closes and it will say whether you got tickets, are on standby, or didn’t get any. I tried for Schmigadoon, Aladdin, The Lost Boys, Stranger Things, and MJ, (Michael Jackson). The only one I got was Stranger Things, which I was on Standby. My first choice would have been The Lost Boys and 2nd was Stranger Things. Once you’re notified that you have tickets, you have one hour to buy them or they go to the next person. I was notified that I did get them for Stranger Things and paid $90.00 total for the two tickets. They email the tickets the day of the play. It was playing at the Marquis Theater.
When we got the tickets I was pleased to see that we were in the Orchestra section, Row M. We left the hotel around 2 that day and walked around Times Square, I wanted a sweatshirt for my granddaughter and bought one. We went into The Marriott Marquis. I told Pete about the revolving restaurant. The View, at the top. He had never been there. I had on a date once. I also stayed there on that sane date, high above Times Square, loved it). Anyway, we did eat there and had very large decadent desserts. When we left we didn’t have to leave the hotel because the theater was right inside. Worked out perfectly.

The seats were great, 13 rows from the stage, orchestra center. There was no singing but the story was great. Lots of special effects and the cast is so talented. We both enjoyed it.
