Butterflies

When we first moved here, at least 10 years ago, I saw a lot of butterflies. I purposely bought a Butterfly Bush, (Buddleia) to attract them. When I became a Master Gardner I learned even more about their struggle. Because of this I decided to focus on building a pollinator garden. I did this by using native plants as much as I could and perennials that attract butterflies, bees, birds including hummingbirds.

For the past four years I’ve seen fewer and fewer, last year none. This year I’m happy to say I’ve seen more. 🦋
