My daughter texted me an article on this CAR T-cell therapy that blew my mind! It is defined as:
“an emerging investigational treatment for multiple sclerosis, (MS) aimed at “resetting” the immune system. By genetically modifying your T-cells to specifically target and eliminate disease-driving B-cells. This one time infusion seeks to help inflammation and potentially allow the central nervous system to heal.”
CAR T-cell therapy is not yet FDA approved for MS and is only available through clinical trials. Several early stage studies are actively recruiting.
This is where I come in. I contacted the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to see if I can participate and I also contacted my neurologist to see if he knew how to get me in one of these early studies.
