    Ocrevus, Prolonged Use

I had my nine month appointment with my neurologist, Dr. Oh at VCU. We discussed my past two hospitalizations. They were both for infections that exacerbated my MS. It is called a “pseudo episode.” I learned, (which I feel I should have known), that the longer you’re on Ocrevus, the more susceptible you are to…

Monthly Weigh In – June 2026

I can’t believe it, 128.6 pounds. I’m so happy! This diet is really working. It is quite repetitive even though I am a creature of habit. The other thing I have to work on is firming up. That is where Physical Therapy with Stephanie comes in. She is helping me work on my core, I…

  • Health Update

It’s been awhile since I’ve written about my health. There’s a lot going on, different doctor’s appointments weekly. When I was in the hospital they did a chest scan and found a small growth in my left lung. The Thoracic surgeon made an appointment for three months at which time he would do another chest…

  • Monthly Weigh In – May 2026

Whew, I gained one pound, now 134. I haven’t been as strict as I was because we were on vacation. We ate out a lot but I did stick to fish, (salmon, fish tacos). I had some Espresso Martini’s, ice cream, chicken wings and nachos with guacamole. I’m lucky I only gained one pound!!

  • Sick Again

The day they left I started getting a sore throat and cough, followed by a runny nose. Pete did too. I didn’t try to stay away from them, especially Brylee who was coughing all over me. The cold started affecting the MS and it was getting hard to walk. I thought, “please not again???” Anyway…

  • Pulmonary Doctor

Today was my first visit with the Pulmonary Association of Virginia. I had an appointment at 11 am with Doctor Alice Herlihy. I got there around 20 minutes early and I was the only one on line to check in. There were six check in stations with someone at every station and no patients. There…

Monthly Weigh In – April ‘26

Yeah! 133 lbs. I lost two more pounds. I wasn’t sure because I’ve eaten out a few times and had some drinks. I ate some pasta and very little bread. If anything, I was hoping I was the same weight as last month. Very happy with the results. I am sticking to my AI Mediterranean…

  • Whack a Mole

When I wake up, I am always experiencing some type of pain. I relate it to the game, whack a mole. Since November it’s been one thing after another. One day the pain could be in my right hip; could be a cluster headache; could be a stiff neck, swollen feet, pulled tendon, Trigeminal neuralgia,…

  • “Can Do” Versus “Can’t Do”

I had a virtual appointment with my therapist this week. We talked about how I always concentrate on what I can’t do instead of what I can do. This wouldn’t be the first time and probably not the last time this will be discussed. I’m a very slow learner, or more likely, the things I…

  • Health Update

Today the headache is gone. I’m still using the wheelchair and taking Meloxicam once daily for the tendon in my groin. Last night I started having a stiff neck. That’s nothing new, it comes and goes. It’s probably my fault because yesterday I went on my laptop and played Mahjong for 2 hours. I’ve been…
