I’ve been listening to Sirius XM, “Classic Vinyl.” One of the DJ’s, Earle Bailey, refers to the songs that are played are from “The First Generation of Classic Rock.” I love this! This means that I am part of this first generation of the greatest rock’n’roll of all time! What a wonderful realization, and I…

I had made an observation that I was going to write about, that after 58 years, The Beatles, are still mentioned or written about almost daily. I am counting from 1964, when they first came on the scene, here in the United States. This is crazy! I have written about articles I’ve read in the…

The new nominees for 2022 have just been announced. Every year I struggle with their choices. My problem this year is the nomination of Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Dionne Warwick and any rappers, (whom I’ve always had a problem with). These are not rock and roll artists! I love Dolly Parton, everyone including herself will…

I have finally watched all three episodes. I had done this before Christmas. I am ashamed of myself for several issues regarding this movie: The fact that it took me so long to watch all the episodes. This is because the circumstances have to all be right, (in my mind). That includes no one else…

On this day, 20 years ago, my favorite Beatle, George, passed away at the age of 58 from cancer. I bring this up because I didn’t have a blog then and I’ll never forget how I felt that day. Amazing, “My Sweet Lord,” just started playing on the radio. (coincidence, I think not). When it…

I just found out, amongst many others, watching CBS Sunday Morning, that there was another important concert, besides Woodstock, held in 1969. It is a film about a concert series, the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, (aka, “Black Woodstock”). I also found articles in People Magazine, dated 7/12/21, and USA Today Newspaper, dated 7/2/21. We are…

Today during my MRI they played YouTube radio, classic rock. The first song was Rod Stewart, “Maggie May,” (I did not name my dog after this song, her name was Maggie Mae, (from what else, a Beatles song). Anyway I love this song, it brings me back to middle school, no specific memory. I am…

I couldn’t wait to see the lady that lent me the scrapbook, to discuss the contents and find out exactly whose scrapbook it belonged to. I worked with her last week and the first question I asked was who’s scrapbook was it? Well I was quite surprised when she said it was hers! So much…
