This was my six month check-in with Dr. Millis, Virginia Endocrinology. I like Dr. Millis, he is always on time, doesn’t keep you waiting in the inner room, is very thorough, asks pertinent questions, answers any questions I have and quickly sends the summary of the visit. I had blood work done in the office. He told me that I have very elevated liver functions, One was normal range 32/36 and mine was 85. I explained that my MS doctor monitors this because of the drugs I am on. He suggested lowering the dose. He wanted me to up my intake of Vitamin D, I’m currently at 4000 ie, I need to double the dose on weekends. I didn’t tell him that I’m not great at remembering to take it. I now leave the bottle on the counter so can see it. He also ordered a bone scan, which is next Tuesday. He wrote a new Rx for Prolia, (an injection I get twice a year to strengthen my bones) This needs prior approval. so I’m waiting for the insurance to okay. I have to go to two new places for the bone scan and Prolia shot. For some reason my insurance doesn’t work for the old places. This is annoying to me because I have to figure out the new route and hope that I’m able to take myself.
