Fostering, “Violet” Update

With a heavy heart, we brought Violet back last Wednesday. I wrote up a summary of our days with her, stressing what a great pet she would make and how lovable she is. We did pay the adoption fee, so hopefully that would help. Needless to say, I cried. The girls who were working there gave her a very warm and loving welcome and were appreciative of the information I wrote about her and welcomed me to send pics we took so they can put them on the website.

On Friday I went to the garden for my usual time and I worked with a woman that I like very much and don’t get the chance to work with a lot. It was hard to talk since we were so busy but we ended up walking out together.

TIMING IS EVERTHING – I don’t know why, but I blurted out, “do you have a dog?” (her name is Whitney) She said she didn’t and I started telling her about Violet and fostering, and what a great girl she is, how sad I was to have to return her. She said that they had been considering getting another dog, (she was familiar with pits). She loved the fact that she was housetrained, and gentle. I showed her pictures and she took the information.

Later that afternoon, Whitney emailed a picture of her at the shelter with Violet, taking her home on a trial basis. The next thing I know, I received another picture of her husband on the floor playing with Violet, saying he is in falling in love. We agreed to face time, they had some questions and after that, they decided TO ADOPT HER!!!!!!

I can’t stress how grateful and happy I am that they adopted her. They also have a fenced in yard and I’m thrilled that Violet is in a loving home. Isn’t it amazing, how in the last minutes of that day, I made the decision to ask her that simple question, “do you have a dog,” and how that led to Whitney and her husband adopting Violet.

They say. “everything happens for a reason,” and I do believe that. Everyone in the garden shop are dog lovers and they’re all so happy about this, (they were all in on this fostering adventure with me).
