Tonight we are in Wilmington, NC, tomorrow we’re finally getting our house. I’m excited for that. Everything in the house is accessible, yahoo!! BUT we arrived at the hotel, Marriott Bonvoy, Courtyard. Asked for room that wasn’t far for me to walk. She said room 101, next to the elevator. I said no because it’s always noisy by the elevator. Pete gets a room and I follow and the damn room is at the end of the hallway. I got very mad and was mean to Pete. He said they were full and that’s all there was. I continued to rant and upon entering the smallest hotel room ever, continued to curse. My walker couldn’t even get by the bed and dresser without having to fold it up. He pointed out that there was a door closer to the room and he would park there. So now out to dinner.
We leave the room and go to the door, alls good..I go to get in the truck and there is no ramp into the parking lot, nowhere, I’m using my walker and the curbs are over 3 inches high. This is why I HATE HAVING MS! Something so simple and easy is a huge problem for me. I get dizzy and nervous looking for something to hold onto. Needless to say now I’m cursing even more and yelling at Pete. Oh well, I’m not done yet….
Arrive at the restaurant and park, not in handicapped, because those spaces weren’t near the restaurant, we were right in front of the restaurant. Guess what? no ramp anywhere, had to walk equivalent to 2 blocks to use the ramp, of course I could have tried, yet again, to go over the curb.
I hate having MS because of the fact that such simple things take so much effort and is so frustrating for me.
By the way, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
