Monthly Weigh In

Today’s weight is 139.8. When I received my Ocrevus infusion last week, my weight was 143.4, fully clothed with sneakers on. Anyway, I am now consciously dieting using the app, “My Fitness Pal,” which is a free calorie counting app. The free version lets you scan barcodes, insert your own recipes and totals calories for them. There is a nutrition breakdown which shows the goals needed for protein, carbohydrates, fiber, sugars, and fat. It includes where you are for the day in meeting those goals.

Since returning to VA from NY in May, I decided that I needed to do something as I only have 3 pairs of jeans that I fit into. I am on a 1200 calorie a day regime, sometimes I’m over, no more than 100 calories and more often I’m under. I don’t find it hard to keep to, except if your eating out. The app also allows exercise to be counted, which you can add calories. Unfortunately I have not done my daily 2 miles on the exercise bike. I have chosen to go outside and garden during that time. I used to include gardening as an exercise, (it is very physical) but I don’t anymore.

There is a paid version of “My Fitness Pal,” if you want more in depth diet information and you can also have a weight loss “team,” to help you. You get frequent invitations to upgrade but that doesn’t bother me and I am happy with what the free app provides.
