I’m late entering this month because we were in NC and I don’t have a scale there. Anyway, 145.4. The difference being that in February I made the decision to get serious about losing weight.
Issue #2, Weight. Trying to be serious, I am no longer snacking at night. I am scanning all the foods I eat through the App Yuka which I’ve already mentioned. When I find out that the food I think is healthy but isn’t, I’m adjusting my buying habits to include the healthier choice. Example: Kroger Whole Wheat Bread, Sugar Free. It scored a 48 out of 100, Poor rating. The negatives were additives and Sodium. Better choices are Dave’s Killer Organic Bread 21 Whole Grains, that scored 100 out of 100, Next Oroweat, 90/100, Arnold Whole Grains 100% Whole Wheat, 90/100 and lastley Sara Lee Artesano Bakery Golden Wheat Bread, 80/100. Good news, I buy that one a lot. The negatives for all of the above are too much Sodium. There are more choices given but I’m not going to go there, four is enough to get the point.
As an aside, one day I looked in the mirror naked and noticed besides my stomach being big, there is a pouch. A section of fat that actually turns downward. Being shocked is what got me to change. I can’t help thinking that I’m being punished because I always looked at fat people with those large pouches heading south in amazement, not understanding how you get that way.
I am back riding my stationary bike, 2 miles, 20 minutes. Today I added 3 lb. weights, working my arms. I don’t do this everyday. When I have to be out of the house early and when I have to make the choice between gardening and the bike, gardening will win. Unfortunately I don’t have the energy for both. I wanted to go back to tracking my calories on MyFitnessPal, but since I’ve been on, they now charge for tracking that used to be free.
