This morning I had an MRI of brain, neck and spine. It’s been at least 2 years so I’m happy that he ordered new ones. They were with and without contrast. This time they put the IV in before I even went into the MRI. This was a smart move, previously they have always waited until the without contrast was over, then came in and did the IV. The no contrast was about 40 minutes and the contrast about 20 minutes. This location did have radio in the headphones, so I requested classic rock. This is the 1st place here in VA that gave the option of radio, (it’s about time).
Every time I’m in the MRI I can usually doze off. The radio was very loud and I did snooze a little until that banging took over. Anyway, I like to time things and usually I’ll find some way to see how long somethings will take. Like when I’m at a red light, I count how many cars can go by before its my turn. This makes me a pro on the flow of traffic at any given red light. Pretty useless information, but it helps my mind pass the time. Anyway, I regress. I figured that eight songs lasted about 40 minutes, no commercials. When they told me only 20 minutes with the contrast, I figured four songs and I would be done. Lucky me, it only took three songs, (they were long ones).
So besides listening to the music and liking the choices being played, my mind still had plenty of time to think. I thought about an old boyfriend, J, who I was engaged to and lived with for 8 years. Since I’m not on social media, I had no way of knowing that he is now making beautiful art, welding found parts, and all kinds of machinery into different things. My kids showed me and it is right up my alley. I’d love to buy a big piece. I have no way to get ahold of him, I asked my daughter to get me his email. He is on Instagram, thanks to his daughter, otherwise he’s not on social media either. Speaking of his daughter, I loved that little girl with my whole heart. She basically grew up while me and J were together. I helped him through the court system so he could see her. Her mother was a real bitch. We were partners in crime, bringing home baby bunnies, a puppy, and a cat. I think of her often. She did have a website and I checked her out a few years ago.
