I had my six month visit with Dr. Oh, my neurologist at VCU. I had concerns about how tired I am and also about the Trigeminal Neuralgia. He did the usual tests for strength and dexterity. He was more concerned with how stiff my legs were and suggested taking one Tizanidine during the day, along with the one before bed. Dr. Oh spends as much time as I want with me, he answers all of my questions but for some reason I didn’t question this and never got an answer to my concerns. We discussed any upcoming treatments and he timed me walking. When asked about my bladder and bowel movements I said I still have hesitation. I told him I had a colonoscopy a week ago and hadn’t gone since. He was going to have his nurse come in and discuss that with me.
She was extremely nice, (I don’t remember her name). I learned a lot about constipation in MS and a plan to alleviate it. I was to buy Miralax, which I did, but I haven’t tried it yet. She suggested adding kiwi to my diet and explained that eating kiwi are good because they start breaking down in your stomach, as other foods break down in your intestines. I bought them but haven’t eaten any yet. She also sent me home with a recipe for muffins, which I made today. They are delicious, (see below)
