Ocrevus

I had my blood work done and spoke to the doctor this morning. I still have no B cells, so we discussed my options for continuing with the Ocrevus infusions. After asking questions and discussing the pros and cons of discontinuing, I decided for now to discontinue. I have been receiving these infusions for ten years and as previously posted, the longer you’re on the more infections you’re likely to get. Since I had two infections in the past year, which both put me in the hospital, I wanted to see how my body, specifically the MS, would react with no more infusions.

I made this decision, because I want to get off medications that I don’t need. I won’t know that unless I stop. She informed me that my blood work will constantly be monitored, with MRI’s taken, and if I felt I needed to get back on it I could. I stated that I knew everyone is different with MS, but regardless, I asked how the people who did stop seemed to be doing. Understanding those results will have nothing to do with me, (others around the same age who have been on Ocrevus for ten years) the consensus was they were fine, with no new symptoms. I’m hoping for the best. We’ll see, and I’ll keep you posted.
