The 9/11 Memorial and Museum

Being in NY and experiencing first hand the terrorist attacks to the World Trade Center and having it affect me so deeply I felt I needed to go to the museum. We had previously been to the memorial, the pools with all the names of the victims during a Christmas visit but I didn’t want to go to the museum at that time of year. We had reservations for Wednesday and chose to use the headsets describing what we were looking at in greater detail. Surprise, it was narrated by Robert DeNiro! I knew that we would spend a lot of time there, we ended up spending about four hours. I had such strong feelings, such empathy for all of the victims. I looked in amazement at the devastating remnants of these buildings. I watched the original news broadcasts from different networks from when this happened. They had the newscast from The Today Show, which I was watching at the time! Watching the first plane hit, then the second; watching the buildings collapse and seeing all of these real life articles and possessions of the people who lived and died because of this attack. These are just some of the photos I took. The pictures speak for themselves:

* If you enlarge the picture of remnants of the antenna, you’ll see exactly where it was on the building. Also enlarge statue made up of weapons to see the detail
