On an episode of The Today Show, their guest was Sara Gottfried, M.D. She is the author of several books relating to resetting your hormones as you age. The book that I am giving an overview of is: “The Hormone Reset Diet.” This appealed to me because of the claim that it will heal your metabolism to lose up to 15 lbs. in 21 days. Any claim to losing weight so fast, I’m in. I also believe in the science behind it, which I’ve previously read about. I’m pretty sure Suzanne Somers has been touting this for years. I was sold and immediately ordered the book.
Let me make it clear that I did not read the entire book, or even more than one chapter. At this point I felt it was too much of a commitment that I was not ready to do. It starts describing how your metabolism breaks down as you age because of toxins entering your body through unhealthy eating habits.
“The Seven Hormonal Resets” are the absence of the following foods; (This is quoted word by word from the Table of Contents).

- Fruitless
- Caffeine free
- Grain free
- Dairy Free
- Toxin Free“
I went on to read the first chapter and decided I would not go on this quest at this time. It also wanted you to eat 3 lbs. of vegetables at each meal! My AHAD would not allow, too much for my mind to take in.
