We’re still in the dog days of summer. Too hot to do any gardening, but I am observing the summer perennials that continue to bloom and the new ones that are starting to bloom. I am also encouraged by the plants I have out on the deck. Last year I bought a Hibiscus on clearance that never did good. I brought it inside over the winter. All that was left was a dead stem. Most people would have given up. In early spring a new shoot sprang up and I put it outside and now it is full with a lot of buds. When it blooms I’ll take a picture.
I also brought my Ginger plant in, which had died down to nothing, When I put it outside it started growing again! Another Ginger, Curcuma, which is a tropical, that I bought on clearance with a beautiful bloom that had died down to nothing, I brought in and upon placing outside is growing beautifully and I’m waiting for that to bloom.
