My life’s been very busy, which is good. helps keep my mind from roaming around. Starting with Memorial Day weekend. We took a quick trip to NY for Brylee’s 5th birthday party. We left VA at 4 am so there was no traffic. Coming back we left at 11 pm, no traffic. The party was on Saturday. Laura has it for all 3 of her kids since their birthdays are within 4 days of each other. It is really a grown ups party. No kids. Brylee gets presents but the rest of the day is Bryan cooking and Laura and her friends drinking. She did make a taco salad and coleslaw. I made German potato salad. It rained so we were all indoors. There has been nothing but rain in NY and even here in VA, its still raining. Anyway, I had a great time with Brylee. We have a lot of fun together.
On Sunday Brylee had her best friends birthday party to go to. They showed up with no present. I don’t know how you do that. Laura said she didn’t have time, (yes she does). She doesn’t cook, she doesn’t garden, and she has no hobbies. You can’t watch a movie because she is asleep on the couch by 8:00. Bryan does everything, even giving Brylee baths or showers and putting her to bed. It’s not just me, everyone notices this, even her mother. One more thing and I’ll let this go. Brylee didn’t have a kids party. Everyone in her class had one that she was invited to. So she’s 5 years old and has never had a kids party.
I did get to see my grandson Victor. I was so happy, I didn’t see him at Christmas so its been over a year. I had invited him to Myrtle Beach but he called his mom and I had never told her about it because I didn’t want to hear her complain that she wasn’t invited. I didn’t invite her because she is not at her job for 6 months and I knew she didn’t have the time to take off. I had bailed her out in November yet again, and truthfully she wouldn’t have a dime to spend. Instead of being happy and urging Victor to go and have fun, she was her negative self saying how it was last minute and insulted that she wasn’t invited. I told her not to put that on him. I guess he felt pressure and decided not to go. This is a 20 year old college kid. He shouldn’t be worried about anything, least of all his parents who basically left him. An all expenses paid vacation. I’m deeply saddened that he felt he coldn’t go.
This Saturday we are heading to Myrtle Beach for a week. We have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo with 3 pools and ocean access. Bryan, Laura and Brylee are flying down to stay with us. I’m so excited! I get to swim and go places with her! I am hoping that my body holds out so I can enjoy this vacation with no health issues. On a side note, I just found out yesterday that you can’t go into water with a new tattoo! I waited all this time and had to reschedule the appointment I had for this Thursday.
While we’re away my friend Stevie and her guy Ron are going to watch Ellie at their house. This is very nice of her. We had made a deal, (we both wanted dogs), that if one couple went away the other would watch the dog. The problem is that she hasn’t gotten a dog and don’t know if she will. I guess watching Ellie for a week will help make her decision. Ellie is staying with them until the 18th. I have an aquaintance, Hannah, (she worked at the garden) who dog sits. She will meet Stevie at our house on the 18th and will watch Elllie here until Saturday. She’s come by twice to meet and spend some time with Ellie.
At the garden shop I was asked to help with inventory. They closed for a week to do this. It made me feel good because they only asked 4 volunteers to help and yeah, I was one!
