What’s new in the Garden

A lot is going on before the heat sets in here in Virginia, (by the way, today is 90). Monday and Tuesday I spent over 3 hours each day outside digging, moving plants, and weeding. The most disappointing, (actually devastating) is that for the first year in over 12 years my Foxglove did not reseed and originals did not come back. I’m trying to figure out why. I’m thinking that the corns of the yellow Siberian Iris I put in next to the pond has spread so profusely that it took over where the Foxglove was. I am thinking that more likely the culprit being that I had moved some Crocosmia in the area and they are now popping upall over where the Foxglove were. I pulled them all out and will buy some new perennial Foxglove and start again, Such a shame!
