Happy Thanksgiving

We’re in the house in NC, just the two of us. I was on a mission. I still am experiencing a lot of pain from my fall. I think I either cracked or broke a rib. Pete thinks I should have it checked out but I’ve had enough doctors and tests, besides they can’t do anything for a broken rib.

First mission: I had dug up a lot of the naturalized daffodils here in VA and brought them down. I planted four groupings around the front of the house. I also wanted two grasses, (don’t know what the name of them is). Peter replanted them in the backyard. We stopped at a nursery and I bought two perennial Lantana, (Dallas Red), which I planted where the grasses were. That whole area which is full sun will be my perennial garden.

My second mission was putting together my “coastal Christmas tree.” I’ve been buying coastal ornaments for over a year. I found a 4’ Christmas tree in Walmart, and a starfish star with pearls for the top of the tree in HomeGoods.

We planned on eating out for Thanksgiving so we made reservations at a restaurant we’ve never been to, Henry’s. It was really nice. Traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, collard greens, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, mashed sweet potatoes and stuffing, (cornbread). Pumpkin or pecan pie. I never had collard greens, they were okay. I don’t like cranberry sauce and I Hate cornbread stuffing, (they call it dressing down here). I make the best stuffing. I use herb breadcrumbs, sausage, apples, cranberries and crushed. Yum

Came home and he hung pictures for me. This is huge. Pete can and will fix anything. Hang a picture, he hates it! Anyway seven pictures up. Another mission accomplished. Heading back to VA tomorrow because it’s Stevie’s 70th birthday Saturday and we’re going out to a surprise dinner.
