Back in the Garden

I finally was able to go back and start some work in my big perennial garden. I lost so much time being away for most of May. It has been too hot to go outside. We went out two evenings ago and worked together getting the bed ready for mulching. This includes weeding, (mostly small oak seedlings), cutting back Goldenrod, (I wanted to dig some up to give away), cleaning up the Irises, (also wanted to dig up to share), trimming Azaleas, and cutting spent blooms on the Coreopsis. All is done except the digging up and sharing.

I’m very happy that the Calla Lillies, my friend gave me, came back and are blooming, My Hydrangeas are crazy with blooms, (more than previous years). This seems to be the case with Hydrangeas throughout our area.
