Country Music

Country music

I have no history of voluntarily listening to country music.  I  was not accustomed to hearing it.  My first introduction was when I was 19 years old, with my infant daughter, and my husband at that time, an alcoholic.  He would stay out drinking till the middle of the night and come home and start blasting these old time country songs.  It sounded like a bunch of whining to me.  I called them “crying in your beer songs”.  So you see my introduction into country music had no good memories for me.  I hated that sad, whiny music.

Until a couple of yeas ago when, new country started coming out.  The songs were fun and uplifting.  I actually watched The Country Music Awards, for me that was huge.  I love the collaborations their doing with other genre’s of music.  I love the tight jeans and big hair.  Keith Urban can easily be a rock star the way he wales on his guitar.  I also feel that getting to know the artists better via the TV or internet and liking them as people, help too. There’s a song, I think by Marin Morris about Peter Pan that I love the lyrics!  I would go see Willie Nelson in a minute. I also want to go to Nashville and experience the whole vibe.  There was actually a TV show on called “Nashville”, that I loved.  The cast was so talented and the songs so good. I was very disappointed when it was cancelled.
