Random Thoughts on Politics
I just saw on tv that one of Virginia’s senators, Amanda Chase, is backing a planned protest at the state capital and encouraging protesters to attend a “safe rally.” What does that mean. Does she really believe protesters will be 10 feet apart and wear face masks?
The protest is for getting back to work and opening businesses, since we have been quarantined because of the corona virus. Our governor, Northham, has nonessential businesses closed until at least May 15.
I feel this is very irresponsible of her as the numbers of infected people in Virginia are still high.
This is the same senator who on March 22, 2019 became irate and used profanities at Capital police officers after being told she could not park in the Secured Pedestrian Plaza. She also had police officers drive her to meetings and had no right to.
She has a blatant disregard for for laws and is only trying to ride on the coattails of President Trump with his blatant disrespect for others and thinking they’re above the law. She is trying to make a name for herself because she will be running for governor.
I do understand the need to get back to work. This corona virus has devastated the entire country as we’ve never seen before. The impact from deaths, emergency workers, farmers, retail, restaurants, all types of personal services, doctors, dentists, employees and companies from every sector in the United States!
I also understand as a free nation we have the right to protest and speak our minds.
This should be a time of working together, (which so many are). Every day there are hundreds of inspirational stories of all these wonderful, giving people helping people.
I guess it is to idealistic to hope that we all can be that way.
“You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will live as one.
Imagine all the people living life in peace”
