Diet Update……or Not

Here it is August already and I have not restarted my diet since my cousin C(2) came and we ate barbecue. We’ve eaten out several times and I didn’t hold back. I had whatever I wanted including a strawberry Margarita and a waffle cone with two huge scoops of ice cream! The last two places we ate, Longhorn Steakhouse and Plaza Azteca listed their calorie counts, which I hate. I had the filet mignon but with a salad and grilled asparagus. Not too bad but I also ate bread and that was the night he stopped for ice cream. I could have said no, but I didn’t. At the Mexican restaurant I had fish tacos with sides of rice and beans, which I didn’t finish, but I also ate a ton of nacho chips and salsa and had them make us guacamole at the table. I do think my dinner choices were healthy but not the ice cream, drinks and chips.

I finally did the DVD, “Gentle Chair Yoga,” by Sarah Starr. I’ve had the DVD for over a year! Anyway it was a half hour and had some very good stretches. I had to concentrate on the breathing and relaxing. I was a little bored, the slow pace, (which I think is the whole purpose of yoga). I’m going to try to get in the habit of doing it when I wake up.

I don’t know when I’ll start the calorie counting again with My Fitness Pal, it’ll be soon. I will weigh myself on the 6th and see what damage I’ve done. Until next time.……….
