I love cut flowers in my house. Better yet, when they come out of my garden. Two weeks ago Kroger’s had a dozen roses for 6.99. You can’t go wrong, right? For lack of my favorite color roses, (yellow), I bought cream ones. They looked beautiful for about four days before they started dropping, drooping, whatever, which I knew they would. Even though they didn’t last long, they gave me joy.
When I dumped them, I went into my garden and picked enough flowers for two vases, and a small windowsill vase.

The orange flowers are Crocosmia’s. I love walking into a room and seeing these flowers, (any flowers). They immediately cheer me up.
Did I mention that I had previously owned a nursery, florist and gift shop in NY? Strawberry Fields was the name, (of course it was). That’s a story for another day if I ever get around to writing pages in here that will tell the background of the story of my life.
