One of my latest projects, (I finished months ago) was repainting a newel that I had finished years ago and had out in the garden. I had P drill a hold in the bottom and insert rebar so I can stick it in the ground. It was red, yellow, blue and green, (see picture). I had it in the middle of the Coneflowers. It had faded and needed to be painted.

I went in a totally new direction in repainting. I looked thru my paints and picked a nice green, (kinda like this color) and I still had the paints out from Brylee’s tool box, so I sparkled it up. On the bottom, before the rebar, when I was done with each color, I swiped the paint left on the brush before washing. I like the way it ended up. I alo topped the purple paint with the sparkle paint and finally I polyurethaned it to protect it from the weather. I hadn’t done that previously, ( see pictures)

This time I placed the newel in the middle of a Milkweed plant, (where it can be seen)
