This week I went to see an Orthopedic doctor, Dr. Bradley Stovall, from Ortho Virginia, recommended by my primary physician. I read his reviews and they were pretty bad. Overall stating that he was very brusque, didn’t listen and was eager to give a shot of steroids. To be fair there was a few stating that he was in fact, all business, quick and on point, which they didn’t mind. I wanted to give him a chance.
My appointment was at 10 am and I got there at 9:40, which they requested. My intake was quick and I was put in “the room,” (you know the one they put you in to wait for the doctor). Anyway after talking to a very nice nurse and the taking of my blood pressure, the wait began.
It was 10:05. I am not known for being patient and this is my biggest peeve on all doctor visits. 10:30, 10:45, came and went. I decided if he wasn’t here by 11:00 I would leave. He came in at 10:50. No apologies, no one had come in to say he was running late.
He asked about the pain I’ve been experiencing in my neck and we went over the medication’s I’d been taking. He said he saw an MRI from last year. I said I had another one in April of this year and he all but ignored that. He wanted another MRI to determine if the pain was caused by arthritis or worn discs in my neck. He prescribed an oral dose of Prednisone. I left with appointments for MRI and a follow-up visit.
