Since Essay was Printed….

I haven’t written anything in a week and I feel bad about it. I had two responses since my essay was published in the August/September issue of Brain & Life. Both were complimentary about the gardening. I answered both hoping to keep up a dialog, and feeling neglectful that maybe they had written back and I hadn’t been on to respond again. Upon checking, they hadn’t responded so I felt guilty for nothing. I have to say that I am a bit disappointed about the lack of responses this blog attracted. I was hopeful for more. Oh well. I’m continuing blogging about my experiences because it does help me.

  • Lovely article. I appreciate your blog explanation of your kneeler. As I read your inspirational article I was trying to imagine how you used only knee pads to garden.

Thank you for the more accurate details of your activities. Garden on!

  • Hello! I live in Glen Allen as well – actually Short Pump. I was wondering if I could ever meet you in person. I am 72 – my husband and I moved here a year ago from Ohio. We moved here to be of help to our son and daughter in law – they have two kids and we wanted to be here to be with them as they grow up. I love gardening, yet where we live, I can’t have a garden. I have numerous issues medically, but get around just fine. I read the article in Brain and Life and loved reading about you and so I found your blog here. I haven’t read anything you’ve written yet and am mostly responding to the article in Brain and Life. I would love to be of help to you if needed. Since you don’t know me, I assume it would be easier if we talked on the phone or met somewhere in person over a cup of coffee. My name is Cathy Amato – phone/text is 740-815-3420. I admire and look forward to reading all of your blogs – learning more about your gardening and music. If you don’t have a need for help due to your MS, good luck to you and have a beautiful fall in your garden.

    • Hi Cathy, It is so nice to hear from you and I appreciate your offer of help. I’m not familiar with the weather in Ohio, but the heat down here is too much for me
and that is why I stop gardening. You’ll see from my gardening posts how frustrating it is to let the weeds take over, (they don’t have a problem in the heat).
I would like tp meet you for coffee, maybe at Short Pump Town Center? There is a Capital One cafe that is very good. Personally I’m not a Starbucks fan, too strong and too expensive.
I’ll text you in a couple of days and see if we can set something up.
