My feet started swelling, (espescially the right one) around five years ago. It used to be when I was outside in the heat. Now they swell for no apparent reason. This year they started swelling in April, right now. My right foot and ankle are puffed up like a balloon and the feeling I have is prickly and numb at the same time.
I have asked my general practitioner about it and she prescribed water pills, which I have never taken. Last week I asked my physical therapist about what can be causing it. She said it could be poor circulation, (my feet are always cold), not enough use, sitting too much. She advised raising my legs as much as possible. I do wear low compression socks and I’ve worn the knee highs when driving long distances. Next week we are going to Hilton Head for a week and I’m worried they will be swollen the whole time and what kind of sneakers, sandals I can wear.
