I couldn’t wait to see the lady that lent me the scrapbook, to discuss the contents and find out exactly whose scrapbook it belonged to. I worked with her last week and the first question I asked was who’s scrapbook was it? Well I was quite surprised when she said it was hers! So much for me connecting with the girl that assembled the book. She said that she had forgotten all about it until she was going through her mothers attic after she died. Her name is Catherine, (Cat).
I couldn’t fathom how she had totally forgotten about it and wanted to give it away. It meant absolutely nothing to her. She said her interest in The Beatles wasn’t for that long and she had moved on to The Dave Clark Five!!!!! WHAT????? Talk about bursting my bubble???? We briefly discussed the articles, she said she didn’t read them all. Well I am thinking, again, how did her interest just disappear? She didn’t elaborate beyond that so again I go back to when John Lennon stated that they were more popular than Jesus Christ. I am in the south now, so it is possible. I didn’t ask, I didn’t want to open a subject that could lead down a road I don’t want to travel. Maybe I should have and I still might, I’ll let you know.
