I am sickened watching the news on the upcoming presidential election. Four years later and we still have the same two candidates. As I’ve said before, Joe Biden is too old, yet he is our only choice. I do think he has done very well with the Infrastructure Act, that a lot of state Republican leaders are taking credit for. I also like his environmental moves, advancing solar and wind power. The electric cars I’m not completely sold on, yet it is a positive move with environmental problems of its own. Manufacturing the batteries needed for all of our electronics here in the US is needed and I applaud that. The wars are very unfortunate and the money we are supplying seems to be endless, yet again, I don’t know any other choices to defend democracy throughout the world and fight terrorism. He has failed miserably on immigration. I don’t understand why we just can’t close our Southern borders. It is way out of control.
Now on to Donald Trump. Where to begin? His whole campaign is based on lies. The amount of citizens that believe and follow him is very scary to me. These people don’t even believe what is right in fron of their eyes. Excuses are made, conspiracy theories believed, which gives him and others the ammunition to justify the lies. Speaking of age, he is not that far behind Mr. Biden. The only thing I will half heartedly give him is the border wall. This in itself was a lie, we were told Mexico would pay for it. Personally I don’t see what he has done for the average citizen. Please enlighten me if you can? He gave huge tax cuts to the very rich, he doesn’t believe in climate change and is against anything to cut emissions or preserve wildlife or wilderness. He would hand over Ukraine to Putin with no remorse. He withheld funds for Ukraine to get dirt on the Bidens. He is crooked as the day is long, he always has been since before his presidential aspirations. I do believe he will ruin our democracy by getting rid of anyone who disagrees with him. By the way, thats what dictators do.
The bottom line for me is Deja Vu of the previous election. If Trump loses, he will never admit failure and if he wins, God help us all. We are destined to relive this whole nightmare all over again.
