In October we drove to the house in N. Carolina for a week. This was a work trip. We hung the new curtains on the sliding glass doors. I’m not thrilled with the color, I thought they were a light tan, (which was the description), and they ended up being more of a gold. The time allowed to return them had already passed. This is the problem with buying in VA and not using the items ordered until we are in NC. We did work in the yard a lot. Pete moved the palm trees where I wanted them, dug up weeds, (the HOA is suposed to do that), and pulled up Mondo grass, which I hate. We food shopped and ate at the house. We didn’t get along, what else is new?
This was Ellie’s first long road trip with us. She did very well, (4 hours). I was afraid that it would trigger bad memories for her, being that she had traveled from her home in Oklahoma to Virginia. One thing that we learned about her was that she stays in the yard and comes when you call her. She’s such a good girl. We took her to the dog park in our community and she met neighbors and otehr dogs, again very well behaved. When she is on a leash, she stays right next to you and doesn’t pull, I can walk her in the wheelchair. We took her to a new Tractor Supply store and while there noticed they had a dog washing station. We went back and bathed her. You could tell that she was used to being groomed, she was very good, but didn’t look happy. We also took her to the River Walk in downtown Wilmington and ate outside at a restaurant. The city is very dog friendly. We also shopped on Front Street and she was able to go in the stores with us. She makes friends wherever she goes.
