Monthly Weigh In – November 2023

Posted on November 7, 2023November 7, 2023 by Barb7858

Today’s weight is 144.6. I am skeptically surprised. I thought for sure it would be more. After my physical and my cholesterol being high, I did cut down and stopped with the peanut butter and not eating past 7 pm. Then Halloween came. I was not a pig. I had some tootsie rolls, little mini […]

The Beatles and The Rolling Stones

Posted on November 4, 2023November 4, 2023 by Barb7858

The year is 2023. Who would have ever predicted that The Beatles and The Rolling Stones would both be on Billboard’s Top Hits List! Again, at the same, both bands, as always deserving This week a new single was released by The Beatles. A song, “Now and Then,” recorded by John Lennon had been given […]

….”The Leaves are Falling All Around”…

Posted on October 30, 2023October 29, 2023 by Barb7858

This is my favorite time of year, that’s why I got married in October. I love the cooler temperatures, I’m able to work outside for hours and I am always in awe of the beautiful landscape as the seasons change. It is hard to describe the joy that I get seeing the beautiful colors of […]

COVID Booster

Posted on October 29, 2023October 29, 2023 by Barb7858

Thursday evening Pete and I went and got our updated COVID booster. We both have always gotten the Moderna vaccine. I thought nothing of it, I previously had no side effects. I felt fine the rest of the evening. I woke up on Friday feeling sore, tired and achy, with flulike symptoms. I attributed this […]

Going the Distance, or not

Posted on October 26, 2023October 26, 2023 by Barb7858

As you can see from my previous posts, I’ve been going to my yearly checkups; physical, blood work, dentist, eye doctor. My latest was my yearly mammogram. In all, my visits to these various appointments I have been using my walker. With accessible parking and the entrances close enough, this hasn’t presented a problem until […]

“We did not ask you white men to come here The Great Spirit gave us this country as a home. You had yours, we did not interfere with you. The Great Spirit gave us plenty of land to live on, and buffalo, deer, antelope and other game. But you have come here, you are taking […]

The American Buffalo

Posted on October 17, 2023October 17, 2023 by Barb7858

Last night we watched the Part 1 or a two Part series titled, “The American Buffalo,” by documentary filmmaker Ken Burns. First I have to say that I will watch anything put out by Ken Burns. He is so thorough with his research, with assistance from historians, and countless others, and he is a master […]

3 Days Later

Posted on October 16, 2023October 16, 2023 by Barb7858

It is now Monday morning and I have gone three whole nights with no pain. On Friday the 13, (last post) we went food shopping at Kroger and I bought XS Acetaminophen 500 mg., (generic XS Tylenol), and got talked into buying Anbesol, gum number. This too, I bought generic. Anyhow. I took two of […]

So Much Pain

Posted on October 13, 2023October 13, 2023 by Barb7858

Last night I woke up 3 times in severe throbbing pain. My teeth again. This pain is so intense that I cry, (I am not a cryer). One move of my head the wrong way and it starts. Yesterday the pain started at 2 in the afternoon. I couldn’t eat, afraid to open my mouth. […]

Yearly Mammogram

Posted on October 13, 2023October 12, 2023 by Barb7858

Since my physical, 2 weeks ago, I have been trying to schedule my yearly mammogram. Easy, right? Let me tell you. I called right away, (Bon Secours), and after 15 minutes was connected. Person on phone took all of my information including medical coverage ID numbers and all. I was on hold while she looked […]
