My love of flowers doesn’t stop in the garden. For me, having fresh flowers in the house are a must. I love when I have flowers as a centerpiece on the table and throughout the house. Every time I enter a room, I smile, feel grateful and marvel at the beauty. I take care of them. I strip the leaves below the water line, I change the water every other day and recut the stems to prolong the life.
I read a long time ago that Elton John spent exorbitant amounts of money to have fresh flowers throughout his house in Atlanta, (I’m talking 50 to over 100 thousand dollars a week or month, I don’t remember). I prefer flowers from my own garden using a variety of containers. I will buy flowers in the grocery store just to have in the house. Below are some different vessels and bouquets that I’ve made. These particular ones are all from my garden:
The 2nd one is in an old Rolling Rock beer bottle. I chose this because my father used to drink Rolling Rock. In the 3rd picture I have a straight clear vase inside of this coffee pot. The 4th and 8th picture are in a small Swedish yellow enamel pitcher that I picked up at a yard sale. The 7th picture I am harvesting Lavender to make sachets that I give as gifts.
