A vaccine by Pfizer that is more than 90% accurate has been approved over the weekend, and now today Moderna coronavirus vaccine is proven to be 94.5% effective in preventing the disease. The United States has surpassed 11 million ongoing cases and 1 million cases in less than a week. The coronavirus is running rampant. The hope is that by the middle of next year everyone will be vaccinated and life can return to normal. This means more lockdowns are happening state by state, and a more restrictions are being placed. Thanksgiving and Christmas are all but cancelled. It’s very sad.
As far as we’re concerned, nothing in our household has changed. I haven’t let any activities limit me because of MS. We go to stores, we’ve gone out to dinner, always wearing a mask. I’m still volunteering 2, sometimes 3 days a week. I feel the precautions the garden is taking are good enough for me to be there. Right now they are reevaluating the rules because the governor has added restrictions. I’ve gone to all my doctors appointments, they also are practicing good precautions.
I’m mixed about being more careful because of having MS. I know quite a few people without an autoimmune disease that are being more careful then me. We won’t travel for Thanksgiving, but not because of the coronavirus. We will go to NY for Christmas. I’m a little concerned because my son and family still socialize a lot without any concern. My husbands family aren’t that concerned about it either. They are coming from all over.
The precautions I take are wearing a mask whenever in any indoor space. I wash my hands a lot, and disinfect surfaces that are around me. I don’t wear masks outside in my yard or talking to people outside. I do keep my distance. Christmas will be hard being inside with family and not wearing a mask, I don’t know what I’ll do then.
