Lately I’ve been taking the back roads driving home from the garden. I see that Virginia is in its prime for fall foliage. No matter how low or overwhelmed I get with thoughts and problems, I cannot express the feeling I get seeing the beautiful colors of autumn. The golds, reds, browns are stunning. With vibrant blue skies and white fluffy clouds, it evokes a joy and calmness inside of me I get only from nature.
Autumn is my favorite time of year, the colors and the crispness of the air after a long hot stifling summer welcomes me with new energy. Energy I can use working in the garden for 3 hours, a creativeness in my brain to start new projects. Like the coming of spring, with new growth coming up from the earth and new life as nature awakens, it fulfills me and gives me hope for the future. I thank God for nature and a deep sense of appreciation. It is a respite from all the horror that is in the world.
