A couple of other blooming plants. I have always wanted a Smoke Bush, the leaf colors are so pretty and the flowers (panicles) so airy and different, resembling smoke, therefore the name. This variety is “Winecraft Black” and is the first Proven Winners Smokebush. Plant in full sun, at least 6 hours. Height 48 – 72,” Spread 43 – 72. Hardy in zones 4- 8. The colors are phenomenal! In the spring purple, in the heat of the summer they turn a deep, almost black purple and in the fall they lighten up to a variety of reds and oranges.This one I got from the botanical gardens plant sale. The False Sunflower I got at a plant swap. They spread easily and I have given many away.
